New High for The SQS Club MembershipMembership of The SQS Club has hit a new high as total membership now exceeds 250 independent fishmongers, 50 of whom have joined in the first quarter of 2004, reports Scottish Quality Salmon. “We are delighted to have over 250 independent fishmongers that are proud to sell Scottish Quality Salmon. Membership of the Club shows a real commitment to a quality Scottish product that is backed by an independently inspected quality assurance scheme,” commented Brian Simpson, Chief Executive of Scottish Quality Salmon. “With more and more people recognising the health benefits of eating oil-rich fish such as salmon, shoppers can buy from members of The SQS Club with the knowledge that Scottish Quality Salmon is farmed to the highest standards and is healthy, nutritious and delicious,” he added. Membership of The SQS Club is open to all UK independent fishmongers who sell Scottish Quality Salmon. The benefits include eligibility to participate in seasonal promotions, point of sale material, updates from Scottish Quality Salmon on issues affecting the industry and a regular newsletter. As part of the commitment to quality, mystery shopping of members of The SQS Club is carried out periodically. Notes to editors: SQS Club was launched in July 2001 by Scottish Quality Salmon to offer support and advice to UK independent fishmongers. A similar club for fishmongers exists in France, the Clan. Membership of the Clan consists of 289 fishmongers. END 4th May 2004 For further information contact either: |
