SQS supports smoked salmon sales with booklet promotion

Shoppers across the UK are currently able to pick up a free copy of ‘the little book of Smoked Salmon’ when they buy one of their favourite foods.

Scottish Quality Salmon has produced the booklet – an attractively produced guide to the salmon smoking process, selection, storage and preparation - to support retailers selling Scottish smoked salmon. The booklet has already been distributed to retailers who are members of the SQS Club and is also being offered to consumers via a media relations campaign.

“‘the little book of Smoked Salmon’ is a delightful reminder for consumers that the very best smoked salmon comes from Scottish Quality Salmon members,” commented SQS chief executive Brian Simpson. “It will help shoppers make sure that the salmon they are buying really is Scottish as well as providing some useful guidance on how to use it.”

30,000 copies of the booklet are currently in circulation, supported by in-store posters.

Notes:

1. Scottish Quality Salmon is dedicated to improving the quality and sustainability of salmon farming in Scotland – from feed companies through to salmon smokers and processors – the whole production chain. Membership now represents 65% of the tonnage produced by the Scottish salmon farming industry.
