SSPO commence reporting of breaches of containment

Scottish Salmon Producers' Organisation (SSPO) has started to report breaches of containment from member companies on this website.

Representing some 95% of the tonnage of Scottish farmed salmon production, breaches of containment where fish are known to have escaped will now be reported on a monthly basis.

Effective containment remains a priority for the salmon farming industry. All breaches of containment represent a significant commercial loss for the business.

Details of breaches of containment up until the end of March are online. To bring the website up-to-date, the months of April and May will appear shortly. June will follow in due course and so on.
