Bangladeshi restaurateurs urged to use salmon in their curries by Ted Brocklebank MSPTed Brocklebank MSP has urged Bangladeshi restaurateurs to include Scottish farmed salmon in their dishes at the Bangladesh-British Chamber of Commerce meeting in Dundee this week. Speaking to an audience of around sixty UK restaurateurs, he commented: “By including salmon dishes in your restaurants you would not only be improving the health of you and your customers, but you would also be helping one of Scotland's most important industries.” The owner of one of Scotland’s top curry restaurants echoed the comments from the Mid Scotland and Fife Conservative MSP. Speaking on Grampian TV, Abdur Rouf of the Dil Se Restaurant in Dundee suggested that if every Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant in Britain served just a small amount of salmon a day, it would give the industry a £27M boost. 21 June 2004 |
