Industry’s Code of Good Practice out to public consultation

The Industry’s Code of Good Practice (CoGP) for Scottish Finfish Aquaculture has gone out to public consultation.

The CoGP originates from the undertaking made within the Strategic Framework for Scottish Aquaculture and has been a collaborative process involving industry, regulators, government and other stakeholders, with financial contributions made by The Crown Estate, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and industry trade associations.

The CoGP is available as a downloadable pdf file on the websites of Scottish Quality Salmon, Shetland Salmon Farmers’ Association, British Trout Association and British Marine Finfish Association. Interested parties, such as the Ministerial Working Group on Aquaculture (Scottish Executive) and UK multiple retailers, have been informed of the consultation, and it will also be publicised via notification in local newspapers.

The public consultation will be over a six-week period, beginning on 1st July 2005 and closing on 12th August 2005.
