Ted Brocklebank MSP and candidates hear healthy heart messageMid Scotland and Fife Conservative MSP and Scottish Conservative Fisheries Spokesman, Ted Brocklebank, has met with Lord Lindsay, Chairman of Scottish Quality Salmon, for an update on the farmed salmon industry. Douglas Taylor, Scottish Conservative candidate for Perth and North Perthshire and Elizabeth Smith, Scottish Conservative candidate for Ochil and South Perthshire, accompanied Mr Brocklebank. Lord Lindsay discussed with the trio a new report by the Joint Health Claims Initiative (JHCI) which has ruled that oil-rich fish, such as Scottish farmed salmon, can be promoted to consumers with a positive message about its beneficial effects on the heart.
