Making Scottish salmon part of a regular, balanced diet offers a number of well-known health benefits. Not only is it packed with nutritious protein but it also contains essential Omega-3 fatty acids.
But as well as keeping hearts, eyesight, immune systems and brains healthy research has also found that it can help women have a healthier menopause.
The extensive study, conducted by the University of Leeds and published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, showed that regularly eating oily fish such as Scottish salmon can help delay the onset of the menopause by 3 years.
Women experience an early menopause are at an increased risk of osteoporosis and heart disease.
