Over the last five years there has been a strong growth in Scotland's seal population with Marine Scotland estimating there is at least 132,000 living in the country's coastal waters.

At the same time there has been a marked reduction in the licensed culling of seals as the Scottish salmon farming sector continues to move towards zero by investing and innovating in new predator management methods.
